Having grown up in a traditional craft business for wax votive offerings, serially produced representations of body parts were part of Hipp's family's daily life. Early on, he also engaged with the human body himself. To this day, he explores the body as a fragment, a hybrid being, an emergent system, and as a site of cultic and social action. Central to this is the question of the perception and alteration of the human body, its vulnerability and transience. The book presents exhibitions and works from recent years with a special focus on the ceramics that Hipp produces in his two self-built high-temperature wood-fired kilns. The book title is taken from the multimedia ceramic installation (2021-2025), which was shown at the Triennale Kleinplastik Fellbach in 2025. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBenedikt Hipp (born 1977 in Munich) lives and works in Finning. Since 2007, his works have been shown in numerous national and international group and solo exhibitions (including Triennale Kleinplastik Fellbach, Haus der Kunst Munich, Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden, Palazzo delle Esposizioni Rome, Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt, CAPC Bordeaux, Wilhelm-Hack-Museum Ludwigshafen, Kunstpalais Erlangen, Zeppelin Museum Friedrichshafen). In 2020\/2021, Hipp was a Rome Prize winner and scholarship holder of the German Academy Villa Massimo in Rome.
