Igor Sacharow-Ross's spatial installations are dense ensembles of images, drawings, sculpture, light, sound and smell. They mark ?interstices? in the force field between nature and technology, between the knowledge born of long experience and state-of-the- art science. His most recent work, created for the Musée des Beaux Arts in Tourcoing/Lille also seeks to mediate, by means of unusual aesthetic experiences, between art and science. This publication presents Sacharow-Ross's major installations since the early nineties, along with essays that take an inter- disciplinary approach to his work. The artist: Igor Sacharow-Ross, born 1947 in Chabarowsk, Eastern Siberia. Studied at the Pedagogical College in Chabarowsk. Lecturer. Co- organised exhibitions of non-official art. Exiled after being interrogated by KGB and banned from employment at the art school. Lives and works in Hagen near Cologne.
