Josef Albers

As an artist, educator, and color theorist, Josef Albers was a pioneer of 20th-century artistic modernism. He is known for his extensive series of works, Homage to the Square (1950–1976). Albers taught at the Bauhaus, Black Mountain College, and Yale University. Numerous books on his work and life have been published by Hatje Cantz.
