The prints of Willi Baumeister (1899-1955) offer a comprehensive compendium of his many themes and imaginative, inventive forms, reflecting all phases of his artistic development. This German-language catalogue raisonné, prepared by Heinz Spielmann, artistic director of the Bucerius Kunst Forum, and Felicitas Baumeister, the artist's daughter, features the most recent research on the artist's graphic oeuvre and documents about 250 prints in detail. Special attention is paid to the relationship of the prints to the artist's paintings and drawings. The lithographs, etchings, and serigraphs paraphrase visual ideas and inventions from over four centuries.
