Since 1992, American artist Christine Hill (*1968) has been living and working in New York and Berlin alternately. Hill was invited to participate in the 2007 Venice Biennale, and Minutes, her installation designed especially for exhibition in the Arsenale, plays with ideas about the passing and accumulation of time. This unusually designed catalogue is an integral part of the work. In both form and content it recalls the artist’s Moleskine appointment calendar, thereby documenting the passage of time and the artist’s movements since being invited to participate in the Biennale. Besides texts by Rick Moody, Shelley Jackson, and Hill herself, the design also reveals deadlines, meetings, and even appointments at the beauty salon. 52nd International Art Exhibition Venice Biennial June 10–November 21, 2007
