artintact is the combination of a book and a CD-ROM with which the Centre for Art and Media Technology Karlsruhe is presenting in a pioneering way works of interactive media art. The third edition of this series collects for the first time works which been specially developed for the CD-ROM format. The three artists Ken Feingold, Perry Hoberman and George Legrady have made a name for themselves in the last few years with interactive installations which have been exhibited at all of the important international festivals and exhibitions. artintact 3 shows three new works of these artists which critically commented on by renowned theoreticians. Peter Weibel wrote the introduction text in which he tackles interactive art in a more general way and discusses the profound changes of art in the context of electronic media.PETER WEIBEL (* 1944, Odessa) is an internationally known media and conceptual artist, curator, and art and media theoretician. Since the 1960s his work has firmly regarded artistic creativity as an open-ended field of activity. He was head of the ZKM, Karlsruhe until 2020. Since 2017 he has been director of the Peter Weibel Research Institute for Digital Culture at the Universität für angewandte Kunst in Vienna.
